I can say i’m pleasently supprised. Jimmy Eat World put on a damn good live show, and recognising a few of their singles easily made up for a few of the more emo songs they played.
All in all a great night, a tastey Subway, a few beers in “The Ice Wharf” by Camden Lock, and a great band. Shame the beer in the venue was warm! The roundhouse is a great venue, good sound and a great building, just don’t put anything in the cloakroom!
I’ve had it for a month or so now, but I thought I would share it with you. I finally got a new acoustic guitar, electro-acoustic to be precise. It’s a Yamaha APX-500 in Oriental Blue Sunburst.
It’s a beauty to play, sounds a hundred times nicer than my old acoustic and has a great feel. The cutaway body is a big help as I can now actually reach the higher frets, and I’m loving the in-built tuner.
Getting a new guitar is one of the best feelings and has really given me the enthusiasm to start playing again, even encouraged me to re-string my electric and to dig up my pedal and practice amp. All I gotta do now is a find a band!
Overweight Guitarist Seeks band for musical adventures.Ability not important, cover bands accepted.
What an awesome day yesterday was. Yes, on Sunday 7th July I was at the new Wembley Stadium for Metallica’s “Sick of the Studio” tour. It’s the second time I’ve seen Metallica live, and they we’re better than I could have ever hoped for. The set list was top notch, the sound was amazing and best of all we managed to find somewhere to watch that had a good view.
Although we had standing tickets you couldn’t see shit from the pitch, so we walked up to one of the pitch seating areas and watched from there. It was definitely worth having a good view, as the lighting and pyrotechnics were in a class of their own.
The set started at about 8pm while it was still light. As the set went on it got darker and the stage just looked better and better.
By about 9:30-10:00 it was almost fully dark and we were treated to some awesome lighting and pyrotechnics.
I can’t remember all the songs they played, but I do remember, in no particular order: Disposable Heroes, Unforgiven, Battery, Master of Puppets, The Memory Remains, Enter Sandman, Fade of Black, One, Nothing Else Matters and The Four Horsemen.
*UPDATE* My Mate Dave was right and the front and got some awesome video. Check it out!
