Metallica – Sick of the Studio Tour ‘07

Monday, July 9th, 2007

What an awesome day yesterday was. Yes, on Sunday 7th July I was at the new Wembley Stadium for Metallica’s “Sick of the Studio” tour. It’s the second time I’ve seen Metallica live, and they we’re better than I could have ever hoped for. The set list was top notch, the sound was amazing and best of all we managed to find somewhere to watch that had a good view.

Although we had standing tickets you couldn’t see shit from the pitch, so we walked up to one of the pitch seating areas and watched from there. It was definitely worth having a good view, as the lighting and pyrotechnics were in a class of their own.

Start of the Set about 8pm

The set started at about 8pm while it was still light. As the set went on it got darker and the stage just looked better and better.

Midway through the set, but still some daylight

By about 9:30-10:00 it was almost fully dark and we were treated to some awesome lighting and pyrotechnics.

Towards the end of the set, night time!

I can’t remember all the songs they played, but I do remember, in no particular order: Disposable Heroes, Unforgiven, Battery, Master of Puppets, The Memory Remains, Enter Sandman, Fade of Black, One, Nothing Else Matters and The Four Horsemen.

*UPDATE* My Mate Dave was right and the front and got some awesome video. Check it out!

Camping was Ace!

Last weekend restored my love for camping, and I’ll definatly be going again! It was nice to finally meet some of the people I’ve been playing games with over the last year, and dispite the weather, I had an excellent time.

Camping 2007

Matt and Jeff left on Sat. evenight, so the above setup was my tent as of Sunday morning when the sun actually came out! Note the big stick on the floor. It’s always handy to have a big stick closeby.
